Occupational Health and Safety Fundamentals
Course Summary
This course provides the students with an overview of the OSHA standards. Discuss safety principles and explore the Federal OSHA standards found in 29 CFR 1902, 1903, and 1910 standards within their organization. Students will be able to analyze the safety requirements of an organization. Special emphasis is placed on those areas that are most hazardous, using OSHA standards as a guide. There are several activities and exercises that reinforce the importance of safety in the workplace.

Course Summary
This course provides the students with an overview of the OSHA standards. Discuss safety principles and explore the Federal OSHA standards found in 29 CFR 1902, 1903, and 1910 standards within their organization. Students will be able to analyze the requirements of an organization for training needs; implement adult training methodology and implement a safety training session; and determine a training evaluation plan. They also develop and improve their skills in applying the teaching-learning process and providing effective presentations.

Course Summary
This course provides the students with the knowledge and the ability to methodically assess the workplace for potential hazards for human injury through detailed written safety programs, self-inspections, job hazard analysis and incident investigations to determine proper abatement methods to remove, isolate or reduce hazards and provide equipment for employee protection. The student will also understand the importance of the inspection process to continually monitor the workplace to ensure proper maintenance and compliance to procedures and ensure existing hazard controls are functioning adequately. The student will learn and demonstrate effective techniques and procedures to investigate accidents and near accidents so that root causes and deficiencies can be determined and proper corrective actions can be made in policies, procedures and training.

Industrial Hygiene for Safety Professionals
Course Summary
This course provides the student will have the knowledge necessary to safely evaluate employee’s exposure to a variety of environmental hazards. The student will be able to define chemical terms and concepts associated with workplace exposure limits, understand toxicology implications of hazardous material exposure, perform personal and area noise surveys, air monitoring, and ventilation surveys.
Major topics covered in this course are basic chemistry and toxicology, anatomy and physiology, air sampling, occupational noise, risk assessments, and statistical considerations.

Environmental Management
Course Summary
This course provides the student with basic knowledge and ability to describe the U.S. legal system role in the protection of the environment. Understand the various environmental regulatory requirements to include RCRA, CERCLA, CAA, SARA, and CWA. The student will be able to define and discuss environmental site assessments techniques, identify concepts for pollution prevention, identify the hazards and safety precautions for hazardous materials, knowledgeable understanding of emergency response and incident command. The student will be able to demonstrate effective an environmental site assessment and know the importance of plans programs policies and procedures that are site specific to hazards identified. Major topics covered in this course are introduction to environmental law, environmental regulations, basic chemistry and toxicology, environmental site assessments, overview of OSHAs HAZWOPER standards, and hazardous waste management.
HAZWOPER 40-hr
Course Summary
This course provides the student with the knowledge necessary to safely respond to a hazardous materials incident. The student will be able to define chemical terms and concepts associated with hazardous materials, understand toxicology implications of hazardous material exposure, identify hazards of hazardous materials, and specify safety and training requirements of the HAZWOPER standard.
