Description

This Basic Powered Industrial Lift Truck Online Training course provides a foundational understanding of forklift safety and operation in accordance with OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.178. Designed as an introductory-level course, it is ideal for new or prospective forklift operators, safety professionals, or employees who need awareness training.

This course is not a substitute for hands-on operator training or certification on specific forklift models and must be followed by practical, site-specific instruction and evaluation.

The training is divided into four structured modules:

• Module 1: Types & Fundamentals of Forklifts
  Explore the various types of powered industrial trucks and understand their basic components, functions, and classifications.
• Module 2: Operating the Forklift
  Learn the general principles of safe operation, including starting, steering, lifting, traveling, and parking procedures, as well as avoiding common hazards.
• Module 3: Understanding the Workplace
  Understand how the physical environment, surface conditions, ramps, and pedestrian traffic influence safe forklift operation.
• Module 4: Training Requirements
  Review OSHA’s operator training and evaluation requirements and learn what employers must provide to ensure operator competency and compliance.
